Christmas in Covid

 Thinking of all those people that have to celebrate alone this Christmas season.  I hope that next Christmas is cherry and bright for all.  Merry Christmas!

Goodbyes

 Many people were laid to rest in 2020.  Many people before their time.  God bless Ben, Michael, Jim, Dotty, Jim, Dan and their families who need to find a new normal without their loves ones by their side.  All of these people have exceptional qualities, educators, fathers, mothers.  God bless all of us in 2021!

Traveling Dream Post Pandemic

 We were traveling to different places and ended up at an ocean.  The life guard stand was a secured large float that was made of black rubber.  The life guard gave my son three doses of a vaccine due to the different places we had been.  Originally I thought it was a vaccine but they took our email addresses in case they needed to contact us with a positive result.  Interesting.  

The last month of 2020

 This month I lost a friend to Covid.  He has battled kidney disease for years and received a kidney transplant three and a half years ago.  He tried so hard to live and this pandemic is what finally took him.  God bless everyone who has lost friends and family to this deadly virus.  Good luck to us all in 2021!

Wrapping Gifts Dream Nov 22, 2020

 We went to someone's house to wrap gifts. As we were leaving we wanted to make sure that we put everything back and didn't leave anything behind.  Problem, we didn't have permission to be there. The family came home.  Then our family appeared.  There we were with half wrapped gifts and our kids intently looking at everything.

 In my dream my son asked if we could get takeout.  I asked if he liked what we got yesterday.  Today I am looking for an oven.  I heard that delivery time is pretty long for some appliances.

Holiday Dinner Dream November 13, 2020

 I walked in the kitchen and there were dishes piled in a drying bin.  They looked clean.  There was no food made.  I walked in the living room and saw all the kids sitting on couches with the television on.  I said everyone under 18 get up and help out.  I saw a pile of newspapers, gathered them up and took them to the recycle bin.  My friend came over.  I said my mom wanted to play the hug game even though it looked more like a tickle game.  I said not likely during the pandemic.

Another friend came over and was asking for the tool that took all your symptons electronically just by scanning your head similar to the new temperature monitors.

Volunteer at a School Dream Nov 8 2020

 This dream was in current times.  Self distancing and masks were appropriate.  Someone was taking me to an attic to show me around.  We stopped in what looked like a grand hotel room.  There was a pool table, couches, chairs, bedrooms and tvs.  Someone was talking about Corona Virus and was praying while watching the news.  I asked the person if I could leave.  I mentioned that since I was volunteering that I got a job.  That seemed to be an issue because there would not be as much social distancing.  Although the people hanging out in that room did not seem to be social distancing.

On the way to the attic area there were a lot of things around many looked like Christmas decorations. There was a length of the room mirror that made it look larger and extra pool tables were in the mirror refection.

Congratulations President Elect Joe Biden!  May you have a great 8 years.

Landlord Dream

 Lots of things were happening.  A college event was starting, people were moving in and I was talking to a tenant.  We were expecting a plumber.  We had just gone on a trip and needed to pay the pet sitter after we paid the plumber.

A bunch a people were walking around the building with furniture. They skipped the steps and walked in another door.  I said Ah making it easy on them skipping the steps.  Then I said welcome.  A few people were running by with black graduation robes and others were really dressed up.

All About the Clothes Dream Sept 8, 2020

 There was a contest where the person who got closest to 10 pounds with their purchase weight would get their items for free.  Another couple won the contest but what they were using were my clothes.  I decided to purchase the clothes back from them.  I said the clothes had been at my mom's and I had not seen them since October.  I think I was buying all the clothes for about 7 dollars.  I wonder if they will be fluffed and folded.  Looks like I am spending too much time at the laundromat while our washing machine is refusing to work.

Electric Chair Dream Aug 29, 2020

 We were at my friend's house and her birthday was coming up.  She had a note hanging up that she would like to have an electric chair.  We were talking about what type of chair she wanted.  Was it a living room chair or an outside chair?  Apparently I had both options. She wanted one for the living room.

A few minutes later they had cleaned up the room and it was around 9 pm. She was running a marathon the next day. She put her items next to the back door.  I started to get ready to leave.  For some reason I put on eye shadow.  My friend did also.  She said she needed to go to work that day.  I sadly mentioned that my daughter wanted to run a marathon but there would probably be no one there to watch her.

My great uncle was leaning his head back on a wooden table.  I commented that he was able to sleep anywhere successfully.  My brother in law was planning on taking him home.  I asked if they just drop him off or go in. They never answered but I remembered that we dropped him off one time and went in and stayed for awhile.  The unusual part was that my grandparents lived with my uncle but they were not there. He lived in the apartment by himself.

Only in 2020 Dream

 I was with family.  My sister in law's mother had a round flat charm on a chain that took your temperature and showed it on the middle of the charm.  She took my temperature by dangling the charm near your body and it was 101.9.  I walked around a little to see if the temperature would go down.  Later I said would you like to take the temperature again.  She declined.

Dream Aug, 27, 2020

 I  was looking for a step stool.  I found it was way up in a warehouse area.  My husband started to lower another one down but it looked more like a chair. I have no idea why an empty warehouse was part of our home

It was 3 o'clock in morning and we got a phone call.  I couldn't hear very well but I thought it was my son.  I woke up soon after.  Very weird dream.

August 2nd

The total number of cases is 18 million 26 thousand three hunded and three.  688 thousand nine hundred seventy four have died.  There are a lot of reusable masks on the market now.  Are they enough to stop this virus from spreading?

11,191,681 is the new number of covid cases as of July 3, 2020.  529,127 people have died of the coronavirus.  This is almost a 2 million increase in cases in 10 days.  Approximately 49,000 people have died within the last 10 days.

Virtual Dance Class

Another first was a virtual dance class.  The dance class had a few steps for a number of ballroom dance and salsa steps.  A nice way to spend an evening and get some exercise.

Not Your Regular Medical Appointment

As I walked in a lady took my temp.  Next there was a shared pen to sign in.  The chairs had stickers saying which chairs are off limits.  I could give verbal consent rather than signing documents.  The remaining parts of the visit were pretty normal.  One thing that appeared odd was that someone was asked to change their mask to a disposable one upon entering the office.

Pets and Pet Store Dream June 11, 2020

A store was closing early but we were still there. Carrots were recommended for my friend's pet.
As were we getting ready to leave two customers came in.  While we thought of leaving money for carrots these people wanted to actually calculate the exact amount of their purchase and leave a receipt for the amount. 
The door opened and this is when the trouble began.  Our dog walked right out the door.  We couldn't all leave to find him.  Someone needed to stay at the store and deal with the new customers' insistent plans.  One of the owners came back and while he didn't like what the customers wanted to do he didn't tell them to stop.
When we finally got outside we found out that our dog had gone to the right under a porch and our neighbor was starting to rescue our dog.

Virtual Celebrations!

May and the beginning of June have been the month of celebrations.  We had one birthday parade.  Not sure that the family even knew we were there because they were on the porch.  We participated in three retirement videos, one birthday video and one teacher appreciation video.  We had  a graduation parade and a virtual graduation.

Animal Dream 6/3/2020

I woke up and started petting a dog next to my bed.  It turns out it was my neighbor's dog that had gotten lost the day before.  No idea how he made his way to our house.  We heard he got lost in a different town.

House Dream 5/31/2020

I woke up in my mom's previous house.  I bought the house.  Not sure why I bought the house.  My children were going to school in a different school district.  I opened the bathroom door to tell my husband that we should either sell the house or rent it because we still owned our other house.

When I opened the door we were in a hospital and my sister in law and brother had a new baby named Fiona.  I looked in my purse for a camera.  I had a lot of cameras that didn't function.  I asked my husband to take pictures with his phone.

Interesting enough my neighbor just adopted a new dog named Fiona.

Birthdays in 2020

This summer my brother will be turning 68.  18 years ago he turned 50.  I called him during my vacation to wish him a happy 50th.  This year I will be turning 50.  Many of my friends are turning 50 this year. At the time my brother turned 50 back in 2002 he had three children.  Now he has three children, a son in law, a daughter in law and three grandchildren. 

I am wondering what the world will look like in 3 years.  In a matter of 5 days we have lost 13,000 more people to this pandemic.  I know my parents were not alive for the last global pandemic around 1918 but I know my grandparents were alive.  I never heard any information about it from them.  What did they do?  How did they survive?  I should look on the family tree and see if there are family members that died around that time and were not around to celebrate their next milestone birthday.
Every day is precious.

Dog Owning Ideas from a Neighbor

Take the dog out at the same time every morning.  Take him to the same spot in the yard. Use a retractable leash.
Use the four hour rule.  Take the dog out every four hours.
He gave his dog a little luncheon meat when making lunches in the morning.
Kibble bowl and water was always available.  Doesn't like putting the dog on a leash around a tree or with a pole in the ground.  Dog's leash can get wrapped around the tree or pole and not let them reach their water bowl.
He put a blanket over the crate and always left the door open.
In the summer he recommends ice in the water bowl to keep the water cool.
Don't scold the dog for going in the house.

Wow!  303,000 lives lost due to Corona.  I started this blog in March.  In April 200,000 souls were lost now we are up to 303,000 in May.

We Try Not To Dwell On What We Don't Have

I took a walk today and all the azaleas are blooming.  April and May are such pretty months for all the flowers.  The tulips and dog woods have been blooming also. 
I am trying new recipes.  Peanut butter and bacon cookies, anyone?  I also found a recipe for biscuits with mayonnaise in them.
I already voted for the primaries.
I know where all my children are at all times.
Pollution is down.

Plant Dream 4/28/2020

I walked by a plant and a portion of it shrunk underneath the dirt when I touched it.  I mention what happened to my mother-in-law.  Next time I looked at it there was more of the plant there.  A blue flower and lots more greenery.  I touched the plant again.  Almost the entire plant went below the dirt.  Before it went under the dirt I noticed some of the plant looked like it might be crocheted.  My father-in-law walked by.  I said this plant doesn't like to be touched.

Park Dream 4/27/2020

We were in the park and the person with me pointed out that there was food on the other side of the park.  In front of me I could see a field with green grass and a fence around the side of it. I was heading around the park trail to get food.  Someone offered to let me pass.  The person was in a truck.  I said that I wasn't going fast.  He pulled over to let me pass. I tried my best with my small kid's scooter to keep up with the traffic. I made a phone call to ask a question of my mom but I needed both hands to go faster on the scooter. I had to keep up with the traffic of the people. I hung up the flip phone and I continued on my journey. Many times I was forced off the small road on the left hand side next to the park.  Two people got in front of me walking from the left side of the park and were singing a song that sounded mean about someone that they had been with at the park.  I was reaching the destination and there was a large light blue food stand in sight. I was almost at the front of the line. To the right of the food stand was an exit.  People that did not want to go to the food stand would be exiting there.  The road had ended and it was one way.

Earlier in the dream I had been in an apartment that had a living room connected to a dining room and a separate kitchen.  The three rooms were L shaped.  There was a wall between the living room and the kitchen but no wall between the living room to the dining room.  I was  cleaning up on the floor near the brown dining room table on my hands and knees.  A couple were just sitting down at the table on the far side of the table. I brought the crumbs and food particles over the the kitchen.  I looked down.  There was a new trashcan and I was wondering and asking why it had been changed.  A few minutes before there had been a different trashcan there.  This one was filled with empty soda bottles.  To the right in the kitchen there was a door.

Haircut Dream 4/26/2020

I waited my turn for a haircut.  The lady started to cut my hair at the bottom left before even asking me what I wanted.  I stopped that right away.  The "teacher" said that the other person was in training.  Next a man came over and asked what shade of lipstick I wore.  I said I normally don't wear lipstick so he took the tray away.  Another person was putting some type of gold bronzer on my lower leg.  The man started doing my hair and I let the lady continue.

At one point all three were on the floor laughing.  The "teacher" came over and asked how I liked the hair do.  I said no one said they were done.  My back was still to mirror and I was facing the middle of the room.  She looked at me and gave  me a look indicating they were done.  I turned to the mirror.  Half of my hair was complete.  I had the 70s feathered wings on the left and two pony tails sticking out from the side on the right.

I think I know what started them laughing.  I had told the person on my left that I guess I needed all three of them.  Apparently my comment might not have been the main reason they were laughing.  My hair was completely done on the left; 1970s feathers and all.

I woke up before paying.

Prom Dream 4/25/2020

I had just been upstairs and they were getting ready for a party.  Everyone was dressed for a prom but everyone was much older.

I mentioned to my husband that I would be getting ready to go to the prom but no one was prom age there.  I started to head towards the stairs.  Someone said that probably everyone was getting dressed up.  I said that would not be a problem.  I had brought clothes since I already knew about the party.

I went to my room to get my clothes.  It was a normal dress but I figured it would be fine since we were traveling. I was thinking about whether I would go back to work when people would be allowed back into the office.

That question is probably on a lot of people's minds.  Once work opens back up will it be safe to return.

So Many Changes in the World

Everyone is talking about a disease that was not heard of 6 months ago.  People are fearful of a disease.  First we were told that it would damage older people more than others.  Now we know that is not the case. We were told not to use a mask if you were not sick.  Now we are told that by wearing a mask we can protect others and others that wear masks will protect us.

This is the first time I am mentioning the world facts.  The world has lost 200,000 souls.  God bless.

The current method of curing people that seems to be working is a person that had the disease to donate plasma to another patient.

I saw a great post from my cousin that he probably passed on from someone else.

We are staying home now so that when we get together again no one will be missing.

Preordering Meals in a Park Dream 4/22/20

Have you ever tried to pre order meals in person for a park?
In my dream we were buying lunch for a group ahead of time.  There was this large counter that we stood behind and we were talking to the person from maybe 12 feet away.  As we were starting our order he found out that we had a person's name that would give us a 10% discount on the food.  Rather than go quicker this was going to take longer.  I had the money in my pocket to pay. The man said that we could have done it all on line.  I said we would for the rest of the days.

We took our paper work to another location where someone started to help us.  After putting everything in the computer she told us there was a $29 service fee.  I said what would the total be?  She responded that it would be $300.  I said was that with the discount?

Next we were following her to another location to hand in the paperwork and get it approved.  We went in the wrong door and it took awhile to get turned around to go to the correct location.  The lady had her coat on and said the office was closed.  We were collecting all our stuff and we would need to set up the meals online.

For some reason when we were leaving we were getting ready to carry a large bookcase with books on it back to the parking lot.  A man stopped with books and I started to ask about them.  Maybe we already encountered a salesman and that is why we were suddenly tasked with carrying a book case ourselves.

Chores Dream 4/21/20

Did you ever have a dream about doing chores?  I had one about washing clothes. I was going to wash certain items, long nightgowns and a robe.  The sweaters were all done and just needed to be put away.  The person I was with was talking about dryer sheets that someone took on a trip and they didn't work as well.  The person was saying that the person took a trip to Heaven but I really doubt wash is something that someone would be doing there; cooking maybe.

Things That Have Changed

In 1918 a pandemic struck the world.  Masks were required to go certain places.
In 2019 a pandemic struck the world. Masks are required when you leave your house.

In the 1930s my Great Aunt had strep throat.  The only way she could have lived was to have someone donate blood to her that had beaten or overcome strep throat.
In 2020 hospitals are asking for plasma donations from people that have beaten the Covid-19.

Many scientists are looking for cures for this new Pandemic know as Coronavirus.  People are staying at home from work and school.  Social hour is on line rather than at a restaurant.

We need to learn the history of what has happened so we do not have a reoccurrence of this Pandemic.

If we go back to business same as normal too fast we may cause this disease to spread even more.

God bless the scientists that are in search of a cure.  The entire world is searching.

Tomorrow is Sunday.  Masses and services will be on line.

Additional New Guidelines

There are very few stores that you can actually go in to shop.  If you do shop there might be a line to get in because the amount of people that can be in the store had gone down so that social distancing is possible.  There are reminders all around to stay six feet apart.  There is a person that has a job to spray and disinfect the shopping carts.  Another person's job is to make sure that the traffic flow moves along quickly and moves in one direction throughout the store.

Now masks are required when you go out into public.  Stores can refuse to have you come in if you do not have a mask on. 

God help us all to be safe.

Running to the Rams Dream 4/18/20

I had gone to work and sat at a desk.  It was getting close to lunch time and a co-worker was going to lunch.  I showed her a video of a party in which everyone quickly got to the center of the dance floor and all made their way to the door.  She commented that some work parties they prefer not having spouses there.  I looked at my watch and it was 12:19 pm.  I guess it would probably be to late to call a friend to meet for lunch.  I started to follow my friend out the door of the large room.

I grabbed my phone from my purse and made a phone call as I was walking.  I reached the steps going downstairs.  I figured I could contact the person about going out after work if they did not answer. I was walking down the stairs as the call went through.  One ring and then two.  Someone answered rather than an answering machine.  I said who I was and asked that the person would call back.

I followed my friend and everyone was grouped up in bunches.  There was a running of a few small deer.  My friend reached up her hand to signal that she was waiting for me.  She was pretty tall in a red outfit and I could see her.  There was a person opening the door.  She was so happy to have seen the deer run by.

Next we were at this place that looked like a long conveyor belt with blue material on it.  Someone handed us gloves, shirt and pants and we crawled through. It was similar to a soft area play yard.  I knew the people in front of me and one behind me.  The next thing was very startling.  There was a gap where people could fall down.  My friend who I was following was dangling on.  She got up and another friend said that she needed to talk to the friend in front of her for encouragement.  Apparently I was not saying encouraging words.  We were about to go into a cage with Rams.  There was one lady already in the cage and three friends in front of me and one in back.  I had no idea before the split where I was going.  I had just been following a co-worker to lunch.  Now it looked like I might become lunch. Luckily for me this is where the story ended.

Buying a Boat Dream 4/14/20

We bought a boat.  They painted letters on the side of the white boat.  Two of the letters an N and an S were not clear but blurry as it passed by me.  I asked if they were going to redo it and they said no that is just how it will look. Apparently a storm was starting to make the waters move when they were doing the painting. Next we were going to get steps.  Beds would come later.  We walked onto the boat.  I wondered when were would get back to take the boat out with our family. I think we had been on someone else's boat and then we decided to get one.  Sounds definitely like a very large impulse buy.

In the next scene we were at a lake.  Many people were there.  I was thinking about the boat.  I saw two people that I thought I knew. They were swimming in the water with just their heads out of the water.  Neither of them recognized me when I spoke to them.  Next some small brown creature swam by.  I was on some type of raft I think.  There were many of these large brown creatures in the lake. The creatures were scary but they were not attacking.  They looked like they hard large brown bodies with thinner necks.  Everyone was running up the hill to their cars. I ran up the hill also.  I was hoping my kids were already up there.  It did not deter me from our new boat but I was definitely done with my lake experience for the day.

There was a side dream where were I was in an office and we were making a phone call.  There were a lot of people almost like an airport waiting room.  One of the phone calls was piped into the room so the entire group could hear the discussion. I only knew one person in the room.  She was planning on going to a place that she had gotten the location of over the phone.  This part of the dream was before going to buy the boat.

The State of Affairs at the Stores during the 2nd Week of April

Today not everyone is wearing masks but the checkouts are a little better protected. There was a panel up at part of the cashier area. There were definitely areas not protected but they are working on it. I noticed a clear zip lock bag attached to the card reader which is an interesting addition.

The 2nd store was a little different. There was a message board outside saying the customers could stay for 10 minutes and only 6 people could be in the store at a time. There was a table in front of the check out that had a place to put packages and a card reader. There was a person between the two doors to make you aware of the limits and ask if you need help finding anything.

 This is the state of affairs at a couple of stores during week two of April 2020.

New Guidelines

I hope everyone is safe and happy. We received new guidelines. Everyone should stay at home but if you do go out wear a mask to limit your exposure to others. Doctors are saying don't go out at all the next two weeks. Easter is on Sunday.

 Today is Tuesday. The school week ends today and my children have spring break. Have a safe day!

Saying Farewell to a Family Member Dream Dream (4/6/20)

My aunt was leaving my house and I went to say goodbye. She was already in the car but when I got outside a line had formed to say goodbye to her. Everyone was spread a few feet apart and I took a place next to the curb and a trashcan that was on the grass. A parent that I knew came up to me and said she was sorry. I must have looked sad. Not sad that I lost her but that I might not see her again. I decline a hug because I said my mom was at our house. In my dream she was, I had just passed her when I went outside. This lady got in line diagonally of where I was. All the spaces were filled in. My aunt was passing thru the line. She waved at the person that had said she was sorry. My aunt also waved to me when she passed by me. Next I saw her get in the car on her own. I knew that might be the last time I would see her.

Daily Things Happening Here

Every day I hear music.  It could be from a keyboard, a trumpet, a flute, a guitar, a recorder or a trombone.  Most days involve some type of distance learning and a teacher or a student will be sharing knowledge.  Normally a few nerf guns will be utilized.  Tents are set up in the yard as a overnight stay or somewhere else to hang out.  One of the cats has been out for one walk.  The dog is more interested in sharing the great outdoors.

First Responders

Kelly Clarkson reaired a program honoring the first responders.  It brings to mind two nurses that I have witnessed their generosity throughout my life.  My neighbor and my aunt have both helped my family countless times.  Their only payment was our gratitude.
Thanks to all the first responders during this difficult and scary time.

Dogs

A few months ago a neighbor's dog was lost and at least five sets of neighbors were trying to locate the dog.  Luckily the dog was found.  Today with the state of affairs I don't know that the neighborhood could come together the same way.

I had a dream where my son was trying to take two dogs out for a walk at the same time.  While trying to get the leash on the other the dog the first dog opened the door and ran out.  We already knew he was a runner.  My daughter went out after him.  My son went out after him.  My husband and I went after him.  I was following my daughter for a bit.  I know she had green shorts on and probably a green top.  At one point I could not see her anymore but when walking with my husband I saw someone that looked like her.  It wasn't her.  Now we had a dog and a child missing.  At one point my husband and I got split up.  I talked to a lady whose dog had passed away.  She said that she had not seen the dog.  I had just been behind her house and there seemed to be some type of fence between her yard and the next door neighbor's yard.  I was so turned around I had no idea which way my daughter had gone and even where I was located.

I came upon a large building that appeared to be being teared down.  It didn't look like any building I had seen before.  Next I saw some people sitting at a ball field.  One family looked slightly familiar.  Next I saw an athletic club with a friend going in.  She confirmed where I was located.  At least now I knew where I was and I wasn't too far from home.  I called my son to see to see if he had located the dog.  My daughter probably did not have a chance to grab her cell phone and I was afraid it would be getting dark soon.  My dream ended there.

I don't always remember my dreams. It probably depends if you are still dreaming when you wake up.

It is probably time to get some type of locator device for our pets.  I was pretty tired of searching for my dog when I awoke.

Prayer or Inspiration

Do not be afraid.  I am with you during your darkest hour. You need to rely on me. Do not rely on the world but rely on the Lord Your God.  He will see you thru this time.  Heaven and Earth are one. The Lord your God and the Father are one.  Help is nearby.  Help is all around.  Your family has been thru trials.  Your neighbors have been thru trials.  Do what is right.  I am the Lord your God.  You can never serve two masters.  It is I the Lord your God that will see your thru this.  I am with you always till the end of time.  Many have died and many remain.  Do not be afraid.  I am with you always.  Let not the world's will be done but My will be done.  Love is everlasting thru the end of time.  My child you are safe and I am with you always.  Amen.

Social Distancing

A few days before the US became infected with the Coronavirus nationwide I expected to receive a robo call from a grocery store saying that I bought a fruit that was recalled and that a customer that was in the store the same week that I purchased food tested positive for the Coronavirus.

Looking back on my concern that the virus would hit close to home:

A neighboring high school was being closed for a one day cleaning on March 11.  The following day  two of my children not in high school would be at a high school.  One was for a field trip and one was for a band practice.  Neither was a student at the schools but they had activities to attend at the schools.  I did have concern for my younger son going to the band practice.  I thought it should be cancelled and the band performance the following week be postponed.

On March 13 my son and I went to a restaurant near two stores that we had been in hunting for toilet paper.  I don't recall the social distancing at the stores but we were lined up normally for getting our food and we ate in the restaurant after getting our food.

I am hoping that none of us receive a robo call saying we were close to someone but I would rather get the call then not know about the potential spread.

Unemployment Checks, Layoffs, Stimulus Checks

Many people throughout the country have been told that they have been laid off due to the state of the economy.  The lucky ones will qualify for unemployment benefits.  How long will that last?

Stimulus checks will be sent out soon to ease the burden in the United States.  I remember last time we received stimulus checks.  All the industries were advertising to use your stimulus check here.  We supported the economy by buying a new refrigerator. 

I hope that even in the wake of the current condition of the world that we do not see a wave of bankruptcies because people can not afford to pay their bills.

Change Is Coming

We have had several things that have been restricted just in this month.  Visiting at hospitals, nursing homes, in patient facilities and prisons have been very limited.  College age students have been sent home and the rest of the schools have been switched to on line learning.

We have not heard that there are restrictions going between states but it looks like the tides might be turning that way. We are experiencing spring time here but in times where there is turmoil it is always a fear that an enemy might strike.  Natural disasters have been plenty in the past including wildfires, volcanoes erupting, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes.

Our hospitals, ambulances, police and the military are all protecting us.  Our job is to protect our children, family, friends and strangers.  Each one of us is called to do our duty every day.

What Does Everyone Need?

How can we help our neighbors and friends?  Today we were invited to a drive by parade to celebrate a friend's birthday.  Obviously we need to limit our expectations.  We need to know that the ingredients that we need to run a house just might not be available for awhile.  God help us all!

I know that a lot of people need a schedule to get thru the month.  Schools are predicting that they might go back at some point this year. It seems better to not make it a game day call and it call it early.  No more school until September. 

In the mass of emails I think I saw an email that said to take a spring picture of the students for their yearbook picture.  Okay but can't we just use the fall picture?

It's Thursday

It is Thursday.  The only normal thing about today is that the trash was picked up and the mail will be delivered.  On the to do list.  Stay home and stay safe.  Yesterday consisted of a goal that I have had for awhile.  Sit down and watch the Star Wars episodes starting with Episode 1.  I should be finished soon.  When I was younger I spent a lot of time at home.  I obviously did things that were different than my children.  We did not have a computer until probably when I was in 8th grade.
I did latch hooks, coin collecting, stamp collecting and some needle point.  I enjoyed crafts and playing with friends.

At Home

The rules are don't go out unless there is an emergency where you need something such as food, medicine or gas.  I am glad that the pet stores are still open.  I really don't feel like doing mail order for my daughter's bearded dragon.  I feel like a cricket order would be a bulk order.

My kids decided a few days ago that camping would be fun.  Luckily the 2nd time the weather cooperated a little more.  My daughter said her thin mattress was floating.  One of the tents is still drying out.

I have found a number of online things that are of interest.  There is a culinary teacher making meals each day.  An artist that is having doodling sessions.  My cousin is doing cartoons detailing her homebound new life.

Doctors are using the internet to see patients.  I guess I should look into mail order for medicines.  Things you take for granted like being able to hug or see a friend are just not possible right now.

Our New Normal

Two weeks ago we pulled up to Wawa in a rented car.  Yesterday we pulled up in a shared minivan.  This was the same establishment but yet everything had changed. Across the street was my son's new dentist office.  I wonder if they are closed.  Last time I was here I was able to try out a milkshake at Wawa for the first time using self serve.  Yesterday the self serve was closed and all of the donuts were individually wrapped.  When checking out I was thankful that my debit card had a tap function.  My son held a door open for someone.  They declined because we needed to be six feet away.  It was a beautiful day.  The parks are all closed. The world as we know it has changed.

Later my daughter and I went to Aldi's to buy some groceries.  The couple in the parking lot said that it closed at 7 pm.  I mentioned how empty the parking lot was and they responded that every parking lot is empty.  We stopped at CVS.  They were still open.  My daughter noticed that the same couple was there.  I looked for the thermometer section even though the poster on the door said they were out.  Earlier in the day my son and I had looked at Rite Aid for covers for the ear thermometers. 

A week ago yesterday was Friday, March 13.  My younger son and I went to his school for teacher conferences.  He hasn't been back because the schools closed that day.  On our quest to find toilet paper we visited 10 stores with no success.  We asked a person in the parking lot at Target and the person said that a shipment should come in on Sunday.  On Monday my husband and I returned his car rental.  A lady was dropped off in front of a nail salon.  The nail salon was closed along with all of the non essential businesses.  Car manufacturers are going to make masks.  Beer companies are going to make hand sanitizer.  A virus called Covid-19 has changed everyone's lives.
